Routes with off-the-shelf fine cameras installed in Ho Chi Minh City

The off-the-shelf fine AI camera system in Ho Chi Minh City is currently set up with a total of 31 AI cameras. These cameras are strategically installed on 7 main routes with high traffic volume, which are hot spots for violations and congestion.

Although only 7 routes are public, the actual installation of 31 cameras on these key intersections implies that the surveillance density is very high, covering many angles and directions of movement. Therefore, drivers should not only focus on the main points but also comply with the law on the entire designated route, as the surveillance area may be larger than the public intersection name.

Dien Bien Phu route (District 1, District 3 & Binh Thanh):

• Installation location: Dien Bien Phu - Truong Dinh intersection; Dien Bien Phu - Le Quy Don; Dien Bien Phu - Tran Quoc Thao.
• Reason for installation: The main route connecting the city center and the East. This area is often congested during rush hour, and has a high rate of red light violations and wrong lane driving. Installing cameras helps monitor traffic flow and handle violations promptly, minimizing the risk of accidents.

Vo Thi Sau route (District 1 & District 3):

• Installation location: Vo Thi Sau - Hai Ba Trung intersection; Vo Thi Sau - Truong Dinh.
• Reason for installation: Central traffic axis, with high density of motorbikes, cars, taxis and many spontaneous parking activities. The camera system is deployed to control illegal parking, encroachment on the road, helping to improve urban order and more stable traffic.

Nguyen Huu Canh route (Binh Thanh District)

• Installation location: Main intersections along the route, focusing on the Nguyen Huu Canh overpass area.
• Reason for installation: The route passes through a high-end residential area and the eastern gateway, often with container trucks and heavy trucks circulating. This is a black spot for accidents with many cases of speeding and sudden lane changes, so installing cameras helps reduce the risk of accidents and ensure traffic safety.

Nguyen Thi Minh Khai route (District, District 3)

• Installation location: Intersection of Nguyen Thi Minh Khai - Mac Dinh Chi; Nguyen Thi Minh Khai - Pasteur.
• Reason for installation: Busy commercial route, with many shops and office buildings. This area has recorded many cases of going in the wrong direction, making illegal U-turns and not wearing helmets. The cold fine camera helps record violations and raise people's awareness when participating in traffic.

Xo Viet Nghe Tinh route (Binh Thanh District)

• Installation location: Intersections in the Hang Xanh intersection and Xo Viet Nghe Tinh market.
• Reason for installation: This is one of the busiest routes in Ho Chi Minh City, with a high volume of mixed motorbikes and cars. There are often cases of going the wrong way, encroaching on the lane and jostling, causing danger. The cold fine camera helps monitor violations and effectively regulate traffic.

Nguyen Thi Dinh route (District 2 - Thu Duc City and District 7)

• Installation location: Intersections near Cat Lai port and Nguyen Thi Dinh - Dong Van Cong intersection.
• Reason for installation: The main route in and out of the largest port in the city, with a large number of container trucks and heavy trucks moving continuously. The camera system helps detect vehicles parked illegally, overloaded and violating traffic signals, contributing to ensuring safety in the port area and reducing local congestion.

Dang Thuc Vinh route (Hoc Mon District)

• Installation location: Dang Thuc Vinh - Le Van Khuong intersection.
• Reason for installation: Suburban routes connecting residential areas with the city center, high density of motorbikes, in which not wearing helmets, encroaching on lanes, and reckless driving are common. Off-the-line fine cameras are deployed to monitor behavior and raise awareness of traffic law compliance in suburban areas.

In addition to the system of 31 new-generation AI cameras, Ho Chi Minh City still maintains a traditional traffic monitoring system in many other areas, especially inner-city routes with high traffic density. These routes are still closely monitored areas, including:

• District 1: Routes such as Le Thanh Ton, Nguyen Hue, and Dong Khoi.
• District 5: Tran Phu Street.
• District 3: Truong Dinh Street.
