Bosch and Milestone strengthen and expand cooperation

Building on the foundation of comprehensive video surveillance system integration, Bosch and Milestone have deepened their cooperation to integrate all versions of Milestone’s XProtect video management software with Bosch’s “Building Integration System (BIS)” software. This combination provides a solution that combines all building management functions on a single platform, such as security and alarm management.

Bosch and Milestone Systems have decided to expand their business relationship. Building on a strong partnership for complete video surveillance system integration between the two companies, the relationship will now be further strengthened, allowing the full range of Milestone’s XProtect Video Management Software (VMS) to be applied to Bosch’s Building Integration System (BIS) software.

The combination creates solutions that integrate multiple building management functions onto a single platform, such as fire alarms and security systems. Thanks to the integration between BIS and XProtect software, in the event of a fire or intrusion, the surveillance camera system will immediately operate. The alarm detector will send a signal to the BIS server, which will then activate the on-site camera to transmit data to the XProtect server for alarm authentication. System operators can zoom in for detailed views and verify the entire scene with multiple cameras before responding to an alarm.

For even greater security, XProtect also features continuous self-management. BIS’s alarm management can automatically report if the XProtect server crashes or if there is insufficient memory to store surveillance video footage.

Milestone’s video management software supports Bosch’s Access Professional Edition (APE). For small and medium-sized businesses with high security needs, APE makes it easy to effectively control access. With the combination of Milestone’s APE and XProtect, security managers can monitor and manage all Bosch access devices through XProtect. All functions such as integrated alarm management, video authentication, door operation, and situation monitoring are presented through a single user interface. This server-based access control solution ensures efficient search and grouping functions to help manage cardholders better.
