System

The risk of human loss is present in most fires. When a fire occurs on public transportation vehicles such as buses, the consequences can be catastrophic. In addition to intentional fire incidents, some common reasons leading to bus or coach fires are high temperatures, vehicle vibration, material damage, fuel leaks or short circuits, and inadequate maintenance.

Many bus fires originate from the engine or battery, which are often outside the driver's line of sight. Therefore, it is very difficult for the driver to notice a fire if it occurs, which can increase both casualties and damage risks.

Automatic "Pre-Alarm" and "Fire Alarm" warnings are sent to the driver's control panel, alerting him to the incident even before he can see it - allowing manual activation of the system.

When fire or a sudden increase in temperature is detected, Delta will automatically send "Pre-Alarm" and "Fire Alarm" signals directly to the driver's control panel, alerting him to the incident even before he can see it - allowing automatic and manual activation of the system.

Surface-mounted with external mounting feet. Wires are internally connected to the electrical system components via plugs.

Delta Fire Detector

DELTA “Dynamic Energy Line Type Activation” is an FM-approved heat detector that detects fire quickly when near a flame or at a distance. A unique electrical signal is identified if the temperature rises regardless of the minimum temperature. The Built-In-Test (BIT) capability makes it suitable for use in harsh applications, and the detector requires minimal maintenance.

Dry Chemical Agent Cylinders

ABC dry chemical cylinder, capacity 6 or 8kg, nitrogen propellant pressure 25 bars at 21°C. Designed to operate at temperatures from -40°C to 60°C.

Used to secure 6 and 8kg cylinders for mounting and connection of the discharge valve to the system.

Discharge Hoses: Deliver dry chemical agent to the nozzles. Hose assembly includes SAE 100R14A, 3/8 inch and 1/2 inch, stainless steel wire braided hydraulic rubber hose, and/or stainless steel tubing and fittings.

Discharge Nozzle

Brass nozzle for discharging dry chemical agent. Machined with 3/8-inch NPT threads for installation into 3/8-inch tubing. The nozzle is sold with a heat and water resistant rubber blow-off cap to prevent debris from entering the nozzle.
