Addressable Speakers and Speaker-Strobes

The addressable speakers (S/O) and speaker-strobes (S/V) are fully powered, supervised, and controlled through a compatible Simplex® Fire Alarm Control Unit (FACU). Operation requires an IDNAC SLC (for power and control) together with a separate audio circuit (for speaker output).

• Provides regulated 29 VDC power, reliable operation even on standby battery.

• Supports T-Tap (Class B) wiring, reducing wiring costs and allowing flexible installation distances.

• Strobe candela intensity can be selected via the FACU software.

Audio (Speaker)

• Electronic supervision with T-Tap Class B wiring support.

• High-quality voice and tone reproduction with selectable output: ¼ W, ½ W, 1 W, 2 W at 25 VRMS or 70.7 VRMS.

• High Fidelity versions available (200 Hz – 10 kHz).

• Compliant with NFPA 72 – 520 Hz requirement for sleeping areas.

• UL 1480 and ULC S541 certified.

Tools and Diagnostics

• Isolator 4905-9929: isolates the circuit in case of short conditions.

• Magnet Test: verifies device address and operation locally.

• TSIT (TrueStart Instrument Tool): tests wiring and devices before connecting to FACU.

• Self-Test: devices automatically test audio/strobe and report status back to FACU, with scheduling available for off-hours testing.
