Firefighter Telephones Description

The Simplex Firefighter Telephone system is designed to provide a dedicated, two-way communication channel between fire departments in a building and the Fire Command Center. This solution is especially useful in emergency situations where radio is unstable or unavailable, allowing fire departments to coordinate effectively, safely and quickly.

• Circuit Monitoring: All communication lines are monitored and power-limited for safety.
• Flexible Installation Options: Flush mount or Surface mount.
• Call Confirmation Tone: When the remote phone calls the center, the system plays a confirmation signal to let the caller know the request is being processed.
• Vandalism resistant: Optional phone with armored cable, speaker and mic secured with anti-tamper glue.
• Push-to-Talk (PTT) option: Allows the user to actively turn on/off the microphone when communicating.
• Magnetic door & call LED: Some models have a magnetic door and flashing LED when a connection request is made.
• Certification standards: UL, ULC, CSFM, FM Approved, MEA (NYC).

Operating principle

Portable Handsets are connected to the Remote Phone Jack Station located at strategic locations in the building.

When connected, the device will transmit the signal directly to the master phone in the control room, allowing instant communication.

Each system uses a dedicated 2-wire circuit (usually a TSP shielded twisted pair cable) to reduce electromagnetic interference and maintain audio quality.

Depending on the central controller, up to 6 remote phones can be connected simultaneously to 1 central phone.

• Model 2084-9001: Standard type, stainless steel face, red lettering “FIRE EMERGENCY PHONE”.
• Model 2084-9023: Integrated LED indicator light when there is a call signal from the center.
• Pluggable Firefighter Phones
• Model 2084-9014: Red, heat-resistant ABS material, 5 ft. twisted cord.
• Model 2084-9024: Push-to-Talk version, for use with 2084-9001/9023 outlets.
• Cabinet Mounted
• Many models support surface or recessed mounting, optional locking or magnetic door, with or without break-rod (glass rod that breaks when pulled open).
• Some models are marked “LOCAL FIRE EMERGENCY PHONE” or “FIRE WARDEN STATION”.
• Accessories:
• Replacement glass rod (Break-rod).
• 10kΩ end-of-circuit resistor for Class B lines.
• DPDT contact set for model 976200 outlet.
