49AV Ceiling-Mount Horn/Strobe

This is a combination horn and strobe notification appliance, individually addressed, designed for ceiling mounting. It connects directly to the Simplex fire alarm control panel via the IDNAC SLC (Signaling Line Circuit), receiving power, supervision, and control commands through only two wires.

• Individually Addressed & Fully Supervised – each device can be independently commanded and monitored by the control panel.

• Regulated 29 VDC Power from IDNAC SLC – efficient operation even on backup power, reduced current draw, and improved wiring distance.

• Xenon Multi-Candela Strobe – selectable candela levels (15, 30, 75, 110 cd on standard models; 110, 135, 185 cd on AVH high-output models). Strobe flashes at 1 Hz, programmable from the panel or locally.

• Multiple Horn Tones – supports Temporal Code 3, March Time (20/60/120 bpm), Continuous, and Temporal Code 4; volume selectable High/Low (approx. 5–6 dBA difference).

• T-tap Support – Class B circuits allow T-tap wiring to save cable and installation time; Class A circuits require in/out wiring.

• Integrated Self-Test & Magnet Test – supports local or remote testing; LED blinks during supervision or magnet activation, while horn and strobe provide confirmation feedback.

• Device Reports – control panel can view device ID, cover type, candela setting, and operating status.

• Certifications & ADA Compliance – strobe meets UL 1971/ULC, horn meets UL 464/ULC; designed to meet visual notification requirements for the hearing impaired.

• Durable & Flexible Design – impact-resistant, flame-retardant plastic housing in red or white, with multiple cover wordings (FIRE, ALERT, FEU, bilingual, etc.); covers and housings are easily replaceable without rewiring.

• Dimensions & Mounting – 206 mm (H) × 180 mm (W) × 76 mm (D); mounts to a standard 4-inch square electrical box; supports 18–12 AWG wiring.
