The Simplex 4098-5610, 5611, 5612, and 5613 heat detectors are designed to detect fire conditions by monitoring fixed temperature thresholds or rate-of-rise temperature increases. They are ideal for areas such as mechanical rooms, kitchens, or dusty environments where smoke detectors may be less effective.

Model Variants

• 4098-5610: Combination of fixed temperature (135 °F / 57.2 °C) and rate-of-rise detection.

• 4098-5611: Fixed temperature only, at 135 °F (57.2 °C).

• 4098-5612: Higher fixed temperature threshold, 200 °F (93.3 °C).

• 4098-5613: Combination of fixed temperature (200 °F / 93.3 °C) and rate-of-rise detection.

Key Features

• Modern Detection Design:
  Does not rely on fusible metal elements or traditional bimetallic mechanisms → provides faster, more accurate response.

• Two Detection Methods:

  • Fixed Temperature: Alarm when the preset temperature threshold is exceeded.

  • Rate-of-Rise: Alarm when the temperature rises by ≥ 20 °F/min (≥ 11 °C/min), only active above 90 °F (32 °C) → reduces false alarms in cooler spaces.

• LED Status Indicator:
  Clearly shows normal and alarm conditions for quick inspection.

• Flexible Compatibility:
  Operates with standard 2-wire or 4-wire IDC circuits, making installation and replacement simple.
