The Simplex 4098-5602 and 4098-5604 are combination detectors that integrate photoelectric smoke sensing with a thermistor-based heat sensor. Equipped with an onboard microprocessor, these detectors simultaneously analyze smoke and temperature signals to deliver intelligent alarm decisions—providing fast response to real fires while reducing false alarms.

• Microprocessor-Based Intelligent Analysis:
  Processes both smoke chamber and temperature inputs, including drift compensation, ensuring long-term stability and minimizing nuisance alarms.

• Dual Heat Detection Modes:

  • Fixed Temperature: Triggers when the ambient temperature exceeds 135 °F (57.2 °C).

  • Rate-of-Rise (RoR): Activates when the temperature increases by ≥ 20 °F/min (11 °C/min), only when ambient temperature is above 90 °F (32 °C) → reduces false alarms from minor fluctuations.

• Optimized Optical Chamber:
  Concentric baffle design improves smoke entry efficiency while maintaining a low-profile, aesthetic ceiling appearance.

• Multi-Function LED Indicator:

  • Flashes to indicate normal operation or maintenance alert.

  • Steady ON during alarm condition.
