TrueAlert Multi-Tone Non-Addressable Horn/Strobe S49CMTV

The TrueAlert Multi-Tone Horn/Strobe S49CMTV is a combination audible and visual alarm device from the Simplex (Johnson Controls) TrueAlert non-addressable series. It integrates both horn (sound) and strobe (light) functions, designed for fire alarm systems that do not require network addressing. The device is suitable for wall mounting and operates on 24 VDC.

520 Hz tone:

• Complies with NFPA 72 requirements for sleeping areas.

• Proven effectiveness in waking sleeping occupants.

Operating modes:

• SmartSync two-wire control: Allows independent horn and strobe operation, enabling horn silence while the strobe continues flashing. Supports alarm patterns such as Temporal, March Time, or Continuous. Strobe flashes in sync at 1 Hz.

• Free-run mode: Horn operates independently without synchronization.

Selectable sound output:

• High or Low volume levels depending on installation environment.

Convenient design:

• Impact- and flame-resistant housing.

• Removable cover for easy on-site color/lettering changes without interrupting wiring.

• Separate mounting base allows pre-wiring before attaching the device. Compatible with single-gang, double-gang, or 4-inch square (102 mm) boxes, both surface- and flush-mounted.

• In/out terminal connections support AWG 18–12 wiring, with loop-through capability.

• External electrical test point for quick inspection without opening the cover.

Certifications: UL 464, ULC S525, and CSFM (California State Fire Marshal) listed.
