49MTV Indoor Fire Alarm Notification Appliance

The 49MTV series is an Audible/Visible (A/V) appliance in the TrueAlert ES family from Simplex. Each device is individually addressable, receiving signal, supervision, and power from the control panel through the IDNAC SLC circuit, which delivers a regulated ~29 VDC power supply.

This appliance integrates a multi-tone horn and a multi-candela LED strobe, providing both audible and visual emergency notification.

Multi-tone audible output

• Selectable tone types:

  • 520 Hz (NFPA 72 compliant, effective for waking sleeping occupants)

  • Broadband Horn, Bell, Chime, Siren, Slow Whoop

• Supports tone pattern options (Temporal, March Time, Continuous) by combining tone type with high/low settings.

Multi-candela LED strobe

• Field-selectable candela settings from 15 to 185 cd, programmed either from the control panel or DIP switch.

Addressable monitoring & configuration

• IDNAC protocol enables:

  • Device-by-device supervision and monitoring

  • Remote tone and intensity programming directly from the panel

  • No need for manual device-level configuration

Quick Test Functions

• Self-Test: Activates horn/strobe and reports device status back to the panel

• Magnet Test: Provides Silent Test (LED flash only) or Operational Test (horn + strobe) for easy on-site verification

Easy installation

• Rugged, flame-resistant thermoplastic housing, available with different cover options (FIRE, ALERT, or blank)

• Mounts on single/double gang or 4-inch square boxes; cover plate can be removed without disrupting wiring

• Supports Class B (T-tap) wiring for simplified installation and reduced cabling; easily expandable loop

• Automatic ADA strobe synchronization across all appliances on the same loop—no additional sync module required

Reporting & compliance

• Control panel can generate reports of device configuration and test history for ADA and NFPA compliance
