The Simplex 49AV is an audible/visible (A/V) notification appliance – combining a horn and strobe – designed for wall mounting, part of the TrueAlert ES series. It connects directly to the fire alarm control panel through a two-wire IDNAC SLC circuit, receiving power, supervision, and control signals.

• Individually Addressed: Each device has its own ID for independent control.

• Regulated 29 VDC Power: Operates efficiently and conserves energy via IDNAC SLC, even on backup power.

• Multi-Candela Strobe: Programmable light intensity from the control panel or selectable via jumper – options include 15, 30, 75, 110 cd (AV models) and high-output AVH versions with 110, 135, 185 cd.

• Wiring Supervision & “T-Tap” Support: Allows T-tap connections on Class B circuits, saving wiring and installation effort.

• Self-Test & Magnet Test: Built-in self-test and quick field testing using a magnet; device address LED aids identification.

• Multiple Horn Tones: Supports Temporal Code 3, March Time (20/60/120 bpm), Continuous, and Temporal Code 4; adjustable high/low volume.

• Certifications: Complies with UL/ULC, FM, and ADA requirements.

• Flexible Design: Flame-retardant housing in red or white, with various cover options (FIRE, ALERT, FEU, Simplex logo, blank, bilingual, etc.); easy to mount and service.
