The TrueAlert ES Addressable Fire Alarm Horn is an audible notification appliance powered, supervised, and directly controlled by the Simplex IDNAC SLC. It ensures enhanced circuit supervision reliability and wiring efficiency with a stable 29 VDC output, even during battery standby operation.

Key Features

• TrueAlert ES A/O (audible-only) electronic horn with individual addressability and control:

  • Advanced fire alarm control via IDNAC SLC, supplying regulated 29 VDC, enabling strobes on the same SLC to operate with low current draw, even in battery standby.

  • Supports T-tap wiring for Class B circuits with individual device supervision → simplifying wiring installation (Class A requires in/out wiring).

  • Self-Test mode uses an integrated sensor to verify horn sound output and report status back to the fire alarm control panel (FACP).

  • Horns can be controlled independently of strobes on the same SLC; FACP supports selectable output patterns: Temporal Code 3, March Time (20/60/120 bpm), Continuous, Temporal Code 4.

  • Selectable High/Low output (~6 dBA difference) set locally or from the FACP.

  • Magnet Test feature enables discreet field testing of each device and wiring without disturbing occupants.

  • Accessible test points allow line voltage measurements without removing the cover.

  • Backward compatible with legacy TrueAlert systems, simplifying upgrades or replacements (see “TrueAlert ES Horn LEGACY Compatibility Reference”).

  • UL 464 and ULC S525 listed.
