4090-9116 Addressable IDNet Communications Isolator

The 4090-9116 Addressable IDNet Communications Isolator is an isolator device used in IDNet communication circuits within addressable fire alarm systems.

Purpose:
When a fault such as a short circuit or earth fault occurs on the signaling line circuit (SLC or IDNet), the device isolates the faulty segment so that the rest of the system continues to operate normally.

It is addressable, allowing it to be monitored and managed by the Fire Alarm Control Panel (FACP).

Key Features

Circuit Isolation in Case of Short Circuit:

• Compatible with Simplex® 4007ES, 4008, 4010ES, 4100ES, 4100U FACPs.

• Supports IDNet circuit types: IDNet, IDNet+, IDNet 1+, IDNet 2, IDNet 2+2.

• Automatically isolates upon detecting a short circuit; can also be isolated from the panel for diagnostic support.

• Each port can be either input or output, independently isolated when a fault occurs.

Supports Class B and Class A Wiring:

• In Class A configuration, maintains communication with devices outside the faulted zone.

• When installed at the beginning and end of a Class A loop, protects the entire loop from short circuits.

Earth Fault Diagnostics:

• The control panel can locate earth faults without requiring extensive wire disconnection.

• Allows isolation by floor/segment to narrow down the fault area.

Status Monitoring:

• Reports isolation status back to the panel.

• The panel can identify devices that are not communicating, pinpointing the fault zone.

Design & Installation:

• Fits standard 4” (102 mm) square electrical box; adapter available for 4-11/16” (119 mm) box.

• LED indicator shows communication activity; optional transparent cover for easy viewing.

• Dimensions: 105 × 105 × 35 mm.
