OIL-TANKShield oil tank fire extinguishing system is a specialized fire extinguishing solution for oil tanks, using foam spray technology to control and extinguish fires spreading due to flammable liquids. This system is often deployed in oil refineries, oil terminals, fuel stations, chemical plants, airport fuel storage yards, etc.

Main components of the OIL-TANKShield system

• Fire extinguishing foam (Foam concentrate):
• Usually use AFFF (Aqueous Film Forming Foam) or AR-AFFF for polar liquids.
• Foam generation and distribution system:
• Bladder Tank (pressure foam tank) or Balanced Pressure Proportioning System
• Foam Maker / Foam Chamber: Mounted on the roof or body of the tank.
• Foam Monitor (foam nozzle): Manually or automatically controlled to spray foam onto the surface of the tank or areas at risk of fire.
• Foam Pourer: Device that injects foam from above into the liquid surface to form a fire-extinguishing coating.
• Piping and control valve system:
• Electric/manual control valve
• Deluge valve if combined with sprinkler or cooling system
• Cooling system:
• Sprinkler or water spray to cool the fuel tank, avoiding the risk of explosion when there is a fire nearby.
• Control center:
• Can be integrated with fire alarm system, leak warning, SCADA,...
